clear skies,

Yes, thanks! This really helped!

But I must say I am a tad disappointed after looking at the gorgeous images posted, I expected something more 'spectacular'!

Good work!

Hi,
Compare with this pic here http://skytonight.com/observing/home/5268431.html and maybe you can recognise it after..
Err... I still can't see it... :( :( avert vision also doesn't help...

Anyway, the "tail" in the photo on skytonight that chrisyeo provide is quite obvious, but I would not said so for the photo aquillae took. To me, it readlly not obvious and it can be anything... clouds, light pollution, jpeg compression artifact and etc... May be it there, but it just so faint... May be those image processing expert can "process" out the "tail", so that we all can easily see it.

Have a nice day.

Ok, I have stretched the pic a bit more and adjusted the curve to bring out the contrast. I've also put a box around it. Hope this helps!

wow, someone really went down under? that's the spirit! :D :salute:
i wish i could do the same.

btw i found another shot taken later after Venus has disappeared behind the thick clouds/mountain. It's still dim due to the light pollution though ( a small town with lots of light pollution :( ).
