Big thanks to NLB, Toa Payoh Public Library and my singastro friends for their generous support of this event. And the sky too for pulling a miracle after sunset. 2012 has been an incredible for me astronomically and what a great event this was to end the year.
Jupiter Opposition + 6 inch APO refractor + Binoviewer = Epic experience!
@Weixing - Thanks for the photos and coming early to help out. Your camera looks amazing, was too busy to ask you more about it. With the glaring street lamps around us, your night photos still turn out great and well exposed! Hope we can observe in ECO Park with some of our new found friends from the event soon.
@Alfred - Thanks for the solar sidewalk session despite your very busy schedule. What a great view we had through the Coronado! The kids and the gentleman were so lucky to be in the right place at the right time.
@Clifford -Thanks for the amazing slide presenter device. So comfortable to use. May buy your spare one for my talks in 2013.
@Kelvin - Thanks for dropping by. Hope you had a good view of the APM. Your amazing astrophotos kept the audience awake.
@Joo Beng - The audience loved your eclipse video. Your decision to leave the audio as it is was a good decision. They audience had a real good laugh!
@Vincent - Finally manage to observe with you in the same event. Thanks for bringing in scopes to Singapore and selling them for a good price to benefit the local community over the years. I am one grateful indirect beneficiary of your kind gestures.
@Jeremy - Thanks for bringing your triplet along. What's a first light party without some fun shoot-out session? My cheap plossl never looked so good in a scope. Hope to observe with you in Johor soon next year.
@Hazrie - Thanks for engaging the crowd during the sidewalk with your scope. It was like a mini public outdoor talk session as you were surrounded by a crowd throwing questions at you left right center. You truly deserved to own that maksutov at that great price. It has found a nice home and owner.
@Avarielle - Thanks for inviting your friends to come along and I am very glad to know they enjoyed the talk and stargazing session. Can't wait to explore our new sidewalk location more in 2013.
@Dave - Thanks for the support as always. Will see more of your astro modifications next year. Solar Max baby! Got some feedback how Jupiter still look decent in your 80mm and Ava's. They didn't expect the cloud bands can still be visible.
@HongLian - Thanks for bringing along the 76mm of awesomeness! It is important to bring smaller scopes to astro events. Else, the public will assume astronomy is still a non-affordable hobby for an aspiring newcomer.
@Koko - Jupiter was so sharp in the Pentax! Great grab-n-go setup. The sky did more justice to your scope's optics compared to our last mooncake session at Bishan Park. Thanks for the support despite the fact that it was a working day for you.
@Richard - Appreciate your support and kind words of encouragement. You are one of those who have attended my first and recent talk in the library. So I value and appreciate your comments and recommendations a lot.
@James - Your scopes are clear-sky lucky charms in Toa Payoh. Every single session you were here for the past couple of years, we never encounter skies so bad we couldn't observe a single thing at all. Looking forward to your next big scope purchase and first light here again.
Also big thanks to my regular Toa Payoh sidewalk "customers" for dropping by. My sidewalks will not have that heart-warming feel if I don't see any of your familiar faces. You guys and gals also give me very honest and objective feedback from the perspective of the general public with no affiliations to any astronomy club or organisation.
For those who missed out on this event, have no fear and worries. James is not going to sell his APM any time soon or ever. So plenty of chance in the future. To increase your chances, perhaps those staying in the West should conduct more sidewalk sessions there.

Was in the mood to blog about this event in detail and edit the video yesterday when I saw the heart-sinking tweet - "RIP. Sir Patrick Moore". I will spend sometime researching and blogging about this first.
