Mercury, approaching maximum western elongation, exhibiting an almost half phase.
It seems like seeing in the morning is generally more stable! Imaged this at 8am which was probably a little too late. Also imaged through a diagonal as I wanted to minimize the risk of losing the planet when swapping to the camera after visual observing. First attempt at using an ADC too, still figuring it out.

Very cool! It was about the maximum apparent size of observable Mercury for a long time. You must be well prepared.

Again, time to update this post. Only managed two images in 2022 due to multiple factors including my schedule and clear skies simply not aligning, a shift toward visual, and building of my dob.

Venus - my first time imaging in invisible light. The colour palette brings out subtle cloud features. I find IR-UV-UV shows the clouds in UV better.

Astromania UV and IR650nm filters
GSO 2.5x 3-element barlow
(ADC not used as it was causing light loss in UV)
Software: Autostakkert 3, Astraimage (deconvolution), Registax, GIMP


And Jupiter, under sub-par conditions. But at least I managed to acquire an image of the GRS from this apparition. The wake of the GRS looks rather long and turbulent - both visually and in the image:
