Arief:

I came back from Japan a few days ago. :) But since I will have something shipped from a shop in Tokyo, I will ask them to add the 9 mm Or EP for you. Let me ask them first whether they can add it or not.

Jeremy:

Let me know which one you want. If you want an 8mm ep, why don't you consider the TV 8 mm plossl? It has very good reputation for planetary observation. http://www.cloudynights.com/documents/p ... pieces.pdf
The only problem is its VERY short eye relief. I am trying to live with it now :)

I got the reply. The shop can take my additional order. Please confirm your needed items within tonight (if possible).

Hi Jeremy,

If u dont mind paying more money, you may want to consider getting a Pentax XO 5mm or 2.5mm. I have absolutely no regrets after buying the Pentax X0 5 from Starmatrix! ^^V

Hi Junwei,
5mm is way too short for my C8 ... I have my eyes on the 8XP which I absolutely love but is slightly over my budget now .. :)

I'm still considering whether to get a 7mm Orth or save up for the 8XP. My current 9ortho was no fight with the 8XP in terms of contrast, colour and sharpness ... I'm sure I would use it alot if I get it but it's so expensive! :)

Anat, I'll let you know tonight. Thanks! :)

XP8 is designed for eyepiece projection with the old-style 24.5 mm barrel. Tak7.5 mm also deserves your consideration. I compared TV 8 mm with Tak 7.5 mm. I like the Tak more because of its comfort of use with similar contrast and sharpness (to my eyes). I feel that it is easier to focus with the Tak, but I don't know why.

The short focal-length orthos are generally good enough for planetary observation and definitely value for money, in my opinion. There are EPs which can be slightly better if you require it for critical planetary observations but they cost at least 4x or 5x more.

rlow, so you recommending that the 7mm would be good enough for my visual (non-critical) purposes? :)

Anat, am I too late? Sorry I just got home ... if it's not too late can you help me place an order for a 7mm ortho? Thanks! :)

Arief and Jeremy:

I ordered Or-7 and Or-9 for you. It costs 4,600 Yen each (shipping to Thailand included). They will be shipped within one week. Can I first light them :) ? I am interested in comparing:
Tak LE 7.5 mm
TV plossl 8 mm
Ortho 7 mm
Ortho 9 mm
Pentax XP8 (waiting for donation :) )

If you allow me to first light, I will ship to you by EMS at my own expense :)
