Alright, this is for sharing of your observation experience. Or, if you are arranging gatherings, star-gazing expeditions or just want some company to go observing together, you can shout it out here.
If you change your mind about the Starshoot, please let me know within the next 4 hours!
Thanks.
This item has a TEC, most probably a peltier inside. Condensation could be a problem.
The Starshoot can be used without connecting the TEC. Of course, the noise will increase.

Andrew,
Go ahead, order one for me, i have been wanting to get a deep space ccd...This has a very good Sony Exview HAD ICX259ak colour ccd video chip with high resolution ( 752 x 582 ) like Starlight Xpress.
let me know how much.
thanks, chee yiun
Trawl through the net, as long as CCD do have a Microsoft Windows base Device Driver, any third party .AVI file creator can be used....Will try and let you all know.

I am not sure how you can reconstruct a video from still pictures, but I don't think the effect and the sensitivity is the same as a hardware video camera itself.
If you want AVI, why not a video camera in the first place?
Welcome back to the 'video' world... looks like you are having great Fun!.. the ability to see faint obj popped up in screen is captivating.. ( integrating camera like mintron, watec, millecam?) I once trained my C8 out-of-the window at primefocus on eta carina and the 'serpent head' filled the 14" b/w montor... but there are artefacts introduced from the camera that needs some effort to remove...
I just asked my local vendor (my wat902H vendor) - he said he can get wat 120N for S$760 in 1-2 weeks time...
I have actually tried simple Acuter CCD on M42, and it also worked, although it is faint. I use mewlon 210 with 0.5 focal reducer and i can a see bit of nebulous and 4 stars.
The video is so bad and not stackable. The max sensitivity will cause a lot of artifacts.
Anyone use toucam pro? ... for this purpose.

the noise on the 120N is not really that bad. You got to see it to believe it. Way better than the earlier Mintron I had used.
And there are many coolers available for this camera also.
Toucam Pro is for planets, not for deepsky unless you do the long exposure modification on it.
