Arief, care to share how you make a C8 your travel scope? :) I've got a C8 and I can't imagine travelling with it on a "non-astro" trip ... :)

Carried a C8 a few times onboard airplane with my samsonite airline carry-on duffel bag that fits the OTA nicely. Astroslew and shortened Manfrotto 058 tripod were checked in. Btw, a C8 OTA WILL conform to most airlines carry-on rule, a Mewlon 180 and most 4" APOs DO NOT because of their length.

I can also use my LX90 goto mount (modded to allow quick-release of the OTA) to go together with my clothes in a checked-luggage. May not need to bring tripod as I just need a flat surface for the fork mount (concrete/hardwood table?).

To promote astro in singapore what, not many local ppl want to take the risk buying from overseas.

C8 is THE perfect scope for first-time scope owner. Generous aperture, good optics, portable, and relatively cheap!

Wa...! Arief, now you are putting an orange on a fork!

You certainly are pushing the limits on the definition of a travel scope.

I bet your scope, mount & accessories will weigh and take up space more than double of all your other travel stuff. :)

Why not just bring your 10" as a travel scope?
