What's e best mate for an AstroSlew?

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

How will a Surveyor Tripod fare compared to a Skyview Pro Tripod? Similar to a CG5. Will the surveyor tripod be more stable?

Tried the 055 with AstroSlew with C8 in Desaru. Definitely NOT stable. :)
Will try using a CG5 tripod, or get Arief's Surveyor .. :)

If you have the CG5 tripod, you don need to get surveyor tripod. The solution/problem is the same for both tripod. Once you get the mount on the tripod, you still have to find way to secure the legs.

My adapter to fix the mount head, can work but it is 80% complete. I only pay for the screw , plastic knob and a nut (between the wood pieces) for about S$5 from Yong Seng Screw. It can be simpler than this.

I'm sorry, from the pics I can't see how they work. :)

Does it clear e N-peg with this? How do you access the screw once it's attached?

I remove the N-peg for this setup. Put the wood piece on the tripod, the round disk fit in the tripod and the larger piece rest on the tripod surface. Screw it from bottom like how you use the original long screw.

no, the astroslew Base is about 1~2mm wider than the recess. Thats why I have to make the adapter, I do not want to modify the astroslew or the tripod.

Sorry, I'm still abit blur. So you removed the original long screw of the tripod? Then how would you use your CG-5 mount?
Is the original screw screwed on or gotta cut to remove it? From what I saw last night, I thought it was a fixed rod.
