Arief had asked REmus to try ATM his own astrograph, thus I think Star Instruments sells only the mirrors.

Just to clarify:

Star Instruments provide for RC optical sets. You need to make and construct your tube DIY.

The complete RCAs OTAs can be purchased from RC Optical System, throught Brad.

Looks like none of the owner of local AP scopes (4" Traveler and 6" f/12 Super Planetary) belongs to Singastro. If anyone knows they're selling their precious, would you guys post an alert in this forum?

Thanks!!

Arief

Is getting the SI's mirrors and build our own RC very viable? Is it any difficulty to reach precision positioning of the mirrors?

i have given it some thoughts, but mounting a 7.25" secondary(16" model) is a little out of qns. maybe the smaller units like the 10" would be abit easier.

given the prices of the meade lx200r, rcx400 and max, one might save alot of effort by going for commercially made stuff.

anyway, this is getting quite out of topic, maybe the mods wan to move these post.

Ok, just make the topic back to the route. I've just put myself into the notification list of 140EDF, 130EDF and a Mach1GTO. LoL
Clear skies,
Robin.

eh, actually i was on the ap400 list. then all of sudden they discontinue it and replace with mach1gto. from 3k+ jump to USD$5950 sia. wudiness. too bad the price way out of range la, mach1gto also abit too big for wat i can manage. and yes, i'm still dreaming of owning an ap400gto. prolly have to settle for an em11 sometime later.

i think i still have that mail from ap, they actually bothered to send me a mail all the way from us.

I'm not sure if I'm still on the list. It was so long ago I think my data is lost already!

haha, i wonder if they really go according to the list. from what i heard, certain ap scopes are only available to current ap owners.

5 years ago when i started this hobby, i would wan get an astro physics scope. but now i look back, even if they sent me a notification that i'm in the list for the traveller, i think i will pass on the deal. somehow the ang moh scopes are starting to lose their appeal. maybe under 3k range i might still reconsider, but 3.5k, nah.

I thought Mach1GTO is quite portable to handle? I am thinking of moving from SCT to refractor, the dark side. :D
