Look like some hope, S/SE sky is clearing and with SE wind blowing, cloud is moving NW. But still have some high cloud that look not moving at all.

Will post again at about 8.45pm to confirm if ob is still on

Saw a huge water sprout at paya lebar area! Looks like a tornado. First time I've seen such thing in sg.
I have every seen similar thing before at Orchid country club,driving range facing the water, it looks as if the tornado is about to form.

off topic : not likely. its probably a dust devil because conditions on mainland singapore does not allow for formation of any tornado but off the east coast and west coast, its possible. there are quite a few shots of people taking pictures of water spout from ECP park..

Where are you staying? If you can get to TP or AMK or Clementi, there is free bus from and near Bus Terminal to Turf city, but last bus is at 9pm. Then follow the green arrow to get to the ob site. See link on how to get there

Yeap the sky was clear too at TC. Only problem was, someone forgot to switch off the moon.

We started at about 10pm and end at around 12.30am and the turn out was not bad at all, :D :D

we have;
ACC, VinSnr, Ric I, Ric II, Ian, Wucheeyiun, Zong, Mark, James & friend, Fung Ling & Andrew, Area503 & friend, Me & son (Wenbin). I thought there were 17 of us, but I can only recall 16 (who did I miss :?: ). Sorry, Area503 and the "friend" for not listing your name here, I'm bad with name and can't recall.:oops:

Setup 3 scopes (2 BIG GUNS), 2 big bino and another 3 scopes in the bag/car. With the bright moon a lot of objects look a lot dimmer :( , but I believe the group had seen quite a number of them :) , especially when we have 2 big guns, human goto and number of gurus. But M51 was out of range even with the gurus due to the bright moon. :(

Next ob, we will remember to switch off the moon, so the dates will be a week before new moon and new moon day (Big guns and Gurus will be running to Mersing). Tentatively, next ob will be two weeks from now and will be at the carpark (mark in Blue in the Google pic - see 1st post of the thread) from 11pm to 2am? instead of the field.

Clear Sky Always
