As of 8:35pm, there are some low cloud in the south and south west. Can see all 5 stars of southern cross, with the city light plus bright Venus, Saturn, and other setting stars, so the Ob is ON

Nice to see all of you there! Here is a picture of Jupiter from the obs session:

Acc & friend, Yang Beng, RLow, Ian, Andrew, Wu, FungLing, Mark, Zong, Peter, Jonathan, Allen, Raymond, Christopher & wife, Me and 4 more gentlemen, total 21 with 12 cars turn up for the party.

The party was good, but the sky was not as cooperative, transparency was not good :( :(. NO mossies :)

Acc, Rlow, Ian, Yang Beng +++ were seaching the night sky for the 2 hours there, not too sure what they had saw with the portaball. As usual our nice Acc shared his big currypot with the newbies. Andrew and Wu were busy imaging some objects like the Jupiter (above), Jewel box .... Saw FungLing little 5" toy in action, but with the currypot, she spent more time there then her own toy. Then came Peter with his 9.25.

Was busy running around and guiding some of the cars making sure it don't hit the other cars or the barrier when it dimmed down the light. Anyway, did see number of objects with the currypot and my big bino.

The party end when Andrew's scope dew up @ about 1am, he didn't bring dew shield or heater for his scope :( so he packed up. Next, Acc packed up, so the rest decided to pack up too.

Hope those who were there did enjoy the night and the party with the under par sky. :D :D

Next week I wouldn't be in town, so someone need to org the ob if there are fellow forumers interested to go there. I will org next ob in a month time.

By the way, Andrew, nice Jupiter, a lot of details :) :) . Is there a moon at about 2.30? If you stare long at it, it moves away, eye is playing trick.

Thanks Clifford and all for organising the star party. My wife, Lillian, and I enjoyed the first time view of a nebula, some open clusters and of course the coat hanger.

The bino views are great.

We had a great time.
