I agree with vincent that US will be a viable option but the cost of living there is quite high + my parents are against the idea of going overseas. Yup, maybe I might want to specialise in physics here as it is quite link to astronomy. Or maybe I might make astronomy as a hobby instead of a career. But i still agree with Jin Peng that in the near future, there could be a possibility of astronomy as a career here. No grudges, just have a gut feeling

Actually I'm not sure about the chances even if you got to US. NASA is their pride in the space war against, "you know who"... Unless you're fully prepared to throw away your Singapore citizenship and take up their's, you probably stand little to no chance to go into space. However, I guess the funding for research in Astronomy is at least much, much, much, better over there than it is here
I'm not hopeful that astronomy will be anything more than a hobby in Singapore anytime while I'm still alive. Besides, just being an amateur is fun enough in astronomy anyway

Again, it is possible in US. Unless one is prepared to go there study, not likely we can be do it here.
But well, I was hoping that one day, some Singaporean will discover a comet and put Singapore in the world astronomy map. Hopefully that would open the floodgates for more interest and research.

No idea. Let's brainstorm over this.
