i'm pretty sure the flattener is superfluous on the DSI. The DSI's diagonal is 13mm while the StarShoot is 31mm. More than 2X.

You can see the effect by cropping your Starshoot image to the central 42% -- am pretty sure the egg stars will be minimal.

Kevin: now that you've seen how much curvature there is on a DX sensor, just imagine how bad it will be on FX!! you need to get your hands on a flattener by hook or by crook :-D
