I miss the place where stars shine bright, to gaze upwards in awe of the sight

Junwei, you are absolutely correct. Astroslew 1 is a good mount for small to medium- sized scopes.

Nice sidewalk! Regardless of yellow submarine or black tube, the crowd had a good time!

Since Sat night 28 March 2015 also happens to be Earth Hour, I would like to make this event more special by upsizing the telescope...
I will try to bring something like Epsilon Lyrae, or more commonly known as The Double-Double (2-2)
At the last Comet Lovejoy event on 10 Jan 2015, I had to handle the 2-2 dob for more than three hours for a constant unending stream of people (ie, long queue) and frankly, I was totally exhausted for a few days.
Hence I would like to appeal for some volunteers amongst our fellow Singastro members. No prior astronomy experience required. No telescope required, but you are most welcome to bring a scope if you like.
I have no problem to transport and set up the 2-2 dob by myself. We need volunteers to assist, to explain to the public, and to aim the Telrad at the Moon and Jupiter. This is really an easy task if we share the load - more hands make light work. I am happy to take a back seat and let others take the limelight
Assembly will commence at 7pm outside Mandarin Gallery, opposite Robinsons. For those who can come, please post reply here or drop me a Private Message with your mobile number. Thank you.

In spite of the poor weather on Sat 28 March 2015, a few of our staunch amatuer astronomers from Singastro turned up. Thank you very much to these folks, here is the group photo:

Some pedestrians stopped by to view the Moon and Jupiter through the 120mm refractor.

Some of the children enjoyed using the telescope. One of the kid is an astronomy expert and he was interviewed by a newspaper reporter.

Some people enjoyed taking photos through the scope with their handphone.
