Hi,
And ofcourse, much of the teams did this "hobby" but this only disclassified them. Teams who really can play soccer, don´t need such tricks.
In that case, I think it is very difficult to find a team who really can player soccer. From what I observed, basically there are quite a number of players in every teams that had this "hobby"... not just any normal player, even a lots of star player also got this "hobby"... just hope that they will get rid of this unhealthy "hobby" soon. Hmm... may be only a kids team can really play soccer... just hope that they don't learn this "hobby" from their heros. :P :P Hmm... May be FIFA can come out with an awards "Best World Cup Actor"... ha ha ha :P :P :P Or may be the most fair team in the world for past 4 years will get an automatically place in the next world cup as an awards?? ha ha ha :P :P :P :P

Anyway, I think sportsmanship and fair game are really very difficult to achieve in soccer... If you let the teams choose between "play fairly, but lost the world cup" or "play un-fairly, but win the world cup", I believe quite a number of teams will choose the 2nd option.
"Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. I'm very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that." - Bill Shankly
Sadly... I think this may be true to players in some country... remember the poor Colombia's defender that been shot dead (with 12 bullets) because he deflected the ball into his own net during World Cup 1994... :( :(

Have a nice day.

Hi Weixing

yes, the player who was shot, I mean his name was "el tren" ....what means "the train", why he went trough the defence like a train.
This is not any more sport or any kind of joy. I mean there is nothing can be so important, to kill somebody, but in the south american "honour" they may see this other.

some mistake send an innocent team home and let the other team move on to the next round. Italy is one of them. The referee made a wrong call and we have the video to prove that. What happen next? No one care, the Italy move on. --- that is mistake done

In American football, there are high tech video cams recording every move on the field, once there is dispute the main referee can review the video record in a black box so that he can see clearly what actually happen. With the right information, he can make the right call. Why not do the same for foodball?

England and French red card are the same. If you review the match, two opponent drag the England player down first, and the Italian ran towards Zidane and make that dirty act first. What the TV highlighted are the scene where the victim got the red card and the unsporty guy became the hero for their team. --- that is correction none

Those who use dirty trick to win is the hero, charges from his home country can be drop if they bring back the cup. Will there be any team to play clean for the next WC? --- so the next one is the same

Football itself is a great sport, but some 'super star' just tarnish the sport with dirty tricks and yet being treated like hero. Watching school level football is much better than watching such games.

Zidane got provoked, the oppenent is infront of him when they walk back to mid field but he did not hit him from behind like the italian did on him. He walked front, turn back face to face, warn the opponent first and use his head not his hand to hit on the chest. I agree in general fighting is no good, but fight for your right and digity like a man is different case.

The italian verbal assult is worse than from physical assult, why only french get red card??

That's happen a lots in soccer... the team that play badly wins and the teams that play well loose... :( :(

Don't get so work up leh... that's one of the reason why FIFA don't want to use technology to solve the issue... they are afraid that emotion and passion for the game will decrease. Also, where do you draw the line where technology will stop intervene?? Unlike most game, soccer is a real time game... the clock won't stop waiting for the referee to make decision... I don't want to watch a soccer game when most of the time are waiting for the referee to make decision.
Those who use dirty trick to win is the hero, charges from his home country can be drop if they bring back the cup. Will there be any team to play clean for the next WC? --- so the next one is the same
As what I mention earlier, there are a lots of palyer that use "dirty" trick in soccer. Anyway, nothing had been confirm yet, right?? If they don't want to "clean up" their own soccer, then they had to bear the consequence... their league reputation and people may stop watching their league.
The italian verbal assult is worse than from physical assult, why only french get red card??
I think verbal assult in soccer is very common especially towards the referee... the poor guy who need to run like a hell in a game, need to make decision in split seconds (hope it'll be a correct one), get all the verbal assult from players and fans, but only get so little pay compare to the players... :( :(

Soccer is a game of mistake... for both players and referees and like in real life and every type of games: You can do anything you want as long as you don't get caught!!
Zidane got provoked, the oppenent is infront of him when they walk back to mid field but he did not hit him from behind like the italian did on him. He walked front, turn back face to face, warn the opponent first and use his head not his hand to hit on the chest.
Hmm.... sound like you know exactly what happen?? :P :P Did the italian hit him from behind?? Also, Zidane and Materazzi was facing each other when Zidane head him, so Zidane won't be able to hit him from behind.

Anyway, I think Zidane was mentally and physically exhausted after palying so long in such a high tension game. With lots of expectation from his teammates, his fellow countrymen and from himself... the desire to perform well and win the world cup especially this is his last game... The pressure must be extremely heavy and tense... making him basically a walking "time bomb".

Have a nice day.

PS: American football look interesting (interesting to watch, but not to play), but I don't have a clue how the game work. Any website on how the game works to recommend?? Anyway, it funny that they called it football when most of the time I saw them carrying the ball.... :P :P

In simple words, each american foodball team consist of the offense, defense and special operation line up. Two team take turn to attack and defend. Basic idea is to grab the ball over the end line and Touch-down to score point.

The quaterback is like the captain. He got a table on his arm for him to refer on different team formation. His helmet is the only one that have both speaker and mic link to the team advicer. The rest of the player only have speaker.

Each team have a highly secure "command center" build at a high place so that the team advisor have a clear view of the field and make call to the quater-back. It is a challenging sport.

you can ONLY attack a player that is holding with ball. If you try to play like Materazzi... just wait till you get the ball.

The performance at half time is a must see. Unique! Beautiful shows/gals!

=========================
I watch the final on Channel 5. Materazzi grab his arm over Zidane from behind and they exchange words. Materazzi then left Zidane and walk to mid field first, Zidance catch up, over take him, turn back facing Materazzi and spoke a few words(while walking reverse a few steps) then Bang!!

It is around 4am, I might have sleepy eye. Correct me if I am wrong.

I agree with Weixing. There is a lot of pressure on all those 'super stars' when they play. Especially for Zidane where the team depended a lot on him. If he performs badly, France will perform badly as he is the engine of the team. It is always easy to criticise the players on field like missing penalties or missing open goals. There are reasons why they miss penalties and that is really due to the pressure. If you see how the Argentina players take penalties against Germany, you will understand that there is a lot of pressure on the Argentina players especially with all the 'boos' from the supporters. If there aren't any boos or taunts, I am sure the Argentina players could have effortlessly score the penalty kicks; that is why homeground has big impact in the world cup.

Also, football is interesting to watch because of all the drama, acting, diving, fights, silky football skills, great passing, fantastic goals and funny own goals. This actually makes it interesting unlike many other sports which doesn't have all these things inside. It is a very dynamic game, as anything can happen on the pitch. About having technology... nothing is that fair in this world. Yeah sometimes the decisions from refrees are bad, but it is better to have the decision on the spot then wait for all the replays from cameras before deciding; more so when games go into extra time and penalty kicks.

Pay special attention to that itchy left hand of Materazzi. If you are still wondering what the heck is going on there and want a front view of the incident, here's the footage:

Materazzi is obviously a bachelor... DUH.

Meanwhile, it has been reported in a British newspaper that an Italian lip-reader claimed to have deciphered what Materazzi said. According to him, the defender's words were: "I wish an ugly death to you and all your family."

The Irish Times had also mentioned that Zidane's mother was hospitalised on the day of the final when the incident took place.

Err... You mean Materazzi grap Zidance and pinch him on his chest... Err... I think that is one of the most common thing you see a defender do to his opponent.

Anyway, I think we'll soon know the answer...

Have a nice day.

WoW! This is really an eye-opener! Wasn’t expecting this to be their “hobby” too! At first I thought it would not be practical, but now I think rubber nipple protectors are required for all soccer players! WoW!

Cheers,
