Hello from a beginner
Hello Everybody,
We saw Jupiter last night! It's the brightest yellow star. Oh the feeling was ecstatic
.
Also noticed a redish-orange star, not as bright as Jupiter but one won't miss it. I guess that was Mars. Just checked the planet finder (thanks Alvin), we should see Mars & Saturn in the sky too. So my guess is (most likely) correct.
I will find Saturn for my daughter tonight
.
Thank you everyone in this forum, you are the most helpful people I ever 'met'.
Regards,
Lily

Hi,
, Saturn (together with Mars) is also currently at the low western sky... May be need to wait till next year to get a better view of it.
Have a nice day.
That's not Mars... Mars is currently at the low western sky... it should be the Antares... the heart of the constellation Scorpius. Also noticed a redish-orange star, not as bright as Jupiter but one won't miss it.
Bad newsI will find Saturn for my daughter tonight

Quite an expensive gadget though (USD399!). I will wait for a while, listen to the feedback from the first batch of users. Are you planning to get one yourself? If so, I will admire yours firsthow about start with sky scout and a good sky chart?

Went to see Jupiter again last night with my children. Only managed to see it for a few minutes and it was covered by clouds. No chance to see scorpius and its Antare.
