Hi,
Just come back from the trip... had a wonderful time. Highlights of the trip:
1) very clear sky... milky way basically stretching from east to west,
2) countless meteor, and
3) a short introduction to Astronomy for the local police in Malay... special thanks to the "lecturer" Sin Hoe... ha ha ha :P :P :P

Please complete the story, guys/gals... Thanks. I need to sleep and check my images... :P :P

Have a nice day.

Hi,

I've finally seen the heavenly view of the Mersing sky - clear & starry! We were indeed blessed with a clear, beautiful and meteor-filled sky. :)

Me and my friends were thrilled! I really saw & learned a lot last nite! Thanks to Chris for making it happen :D

And very very special thanks to Xing Xing, Richard, Clement & Chris (plus a few others whom I did not catch their name), for taking the time + patience to show me and my friends the beautiful constellations, galaxies and nebulaes. It was really breathe-taking

Definately, one nite is not enough. I still can't get those images out of my head :) Am looking forward to the next trip... Already, I'm feeling empty and blue now, looking at our sky...

Hi guys, will post more photos in full resolution when I have the time later on.

I suppose what was most memorable for me was the number of meteors! We were getting meteors from maybe 5 different streams (Alpha Capricornids, Antihelion,Southern Delta Aquarids, Pisces Austrinids and Perseids). I didn't really go and verify the radiants, but every minute you looked up you'd see one. Must have saw more than 50 personally over the whole night. And it's a first time for me to see one that left a train as well.

Please post your own reports when free!

Cheers,
Chris

Wow... I am *envious*. I have not once catched countless meteors before. My dream is to catch a meteor shower in Hawaii next time in the future.. can wait wait wait.. don't know when that will happen.

Hi,
Hmm... Was wondering where should I post the image... :P

Anyway, decided to post the M31 image at the Astrophotography section ( http://www.singastro.org/viewtopic.php? ... highlight= ) and post the milky way image here ( 2 x 5 minutes exposure @ ISO 800).

Have a nice day.
