How do you guys get the tax calculation? In Malaysia, there is no clear rule on charging the tax on telescopes. They charge according to LUXURIOUS item...

The shipping and taxes for CPC 9.25 is about SGD1000 using Vpost. So the CPC800 should be around 700-800. So IMO, the shop at least earn a thousand bucks on the CPC800 and most probably the same for the CPC9.25.
Assuming ship and tax calculation of SGD1000K . USD2499 for the C9.25= SGD$4000(asumming ex rate 1.6)+(ship and taxes) SGD1000. Total=5K.

I got 9.25 set up for around 5.4K to 5.5K.

Astro is earning around SGD400++ from me , with the shop front+service+mutiple times I check out the equipment+ celestron doesn't do shipping overseas...etc. IMO, this is still within a margin exceptable to me.

btw, just a question, I thought the vendors on our forum usually sell alot cheaper than elsewhere, but I saw the list price for cpc 800 is at $4799...this seem way to far...was wondering how that pricing came about...any clues.? Thank for your comments!
Bro..exchange rate thesedays at most 1.55...where got 1.6 anymore.

Also, how long do you have to wait for the scope? Don't forget I am using Vpost here, so the waiting time to about a week. If you have to wait like 1 month -2 month, then I could have use normal surface which will be much cheaper than vpost.

Also, don't go believe that Meade or Celestron does not ship overseas. Yes..officially they do not....but like in most cases of other things in our life, how often we follow things "officially"?
