understood. thanks alot. i roughly know what i want now. haha. i went observing the sky just a moment ago. its was cloudy yeap but i found a few of them. used tat stupid bino of mine and spotted quite a few more. i think for me now, a small scope that is portable will be the best choice. i want to know more about the sky before going deeper and being more specific. now is the time for me to get my basics right!!

Hi,
and btw weixing, do u think ur that Vixen A80SS is a good choice for me?
The Vixen A80SS is design to be a wide field achromatic refractor, so it'll perform well on wide field from low to medium magnification. Although I seldom use it to observe the planet through it (can't remember when  ) as I always use my 8" scope, but I think it won't perform that well at high magnification.

By the way, I got a Vixen 5.3" Newtonian that I brought from Meng Lee that's IMHO, very suitable for you... it's quite light, portable and very good price (thanks to Meng Lee). I now use it with my MicroStar mount as my grab and go scope. Although, I do not plan to sell it, but I'm "eyeing" someone "mwts scope". So if that "mwts scope" become "wts scope" and I still can't sell my current 8" F5 scope by then, I might sell this 5.1" Newtonian with MicroStar mount to get that scope... ha ha ha

Anyway, you can drop by to take a look through it if you are interested. I live in Tampines and it's only around 30min away from Yishun if you take 969 from Yishun. Drop me a PM if you are interested.

Have a nice day.

Hehe, my second hand lobang will only make you interested when you are ready for hardcore astrophotography. Now most of my scopes are optimised for astrophotography. I only got 1 visual scope that I will be keeping.
