Hi All....

Last night, as the weather is extremely good, I setup the newly arrived scope onto my G11 losmandy mount....

As I am only doing it at home, and facing west side, I could only view Jupiter after 3am....
As such I put the scope 1st object at M45....., and using the baader zoom at 24mm at 50X, the view is something I never seen with so many stars , the contrast is so clear and very nice background.....

And when I managed to get Jupiter into the scope view, the eagerness is to see how much I can power it up to......
And maybe is already not high above the sky, I could only made it to 300X, maybe I should do it again tonight or tomorrow, if weather permits...

As for how Jupiter appears in the scope, as per my memories of viewing through so many scopes, do not expect it to see more things than any other scopes....
You will still see the same amount of details, as any other scopes, big or small, except the contrast is better.....as well as the CA, if you are going to compare it against any achro....

Now just waiting for the real outdoor 1st light .............

Regards

James Ling

The arrival of this scope also marked the clearest night of the year! No new-scope curse for this bugger :)

ok..think i will come to the TPL tonight, since rain or shine the scope will be there.

I have told Markus that for old friend sake, since his first "breakthrough" scope that was born from a simple cloudynight forum discussion is now here in Singapore, I will take a look at it and give him an objective opinion.

Hi.James
Any way to decrease the wt of the ota+tube rings to 10 kg or lower in total?Whats the actual value for your scope now?Actually very interested but due to age my hand starts trembling when handling more than 10 kg.Thanks.
