Hi there,
I'm willing to chip in my C8N with CG5 mount if the event is on Sat. But might not be able to stay late as I'm still working on Sun.

Hi all,
Will try to answer everyone's queries, but firstly, we cannot have the meeting this saturday as Carole (one of the main organisers is recuperating from a bad fall). Will be postponed to a later date, most lately again to be on a weekend to cater to everybody - this refers to the meeting. As for the opposition, Mars Watch 2005 will most likely be held on the 29th of October 2005 where it will be seen in the evening over at the east with a diameter of 20.2 arc seconds across. This is considered quite big for Mars though about 5 arc seconds smaller in diameter than the 2003 August opposition. As for the location, it is very difficult in fact almost impossible to adhere to everyone's request...my gosh, north? south? east? west? center? ;P
Nevertheless, we will try to select a place that is condusive for setting up of equipment, relatively dark (though not 100% possible), and big enough to accomodate the crowd. Marina South might be a likely candidate as it is located central....which I think is fair enough for everyone. I can volunteer my 110AMP Deep Cycle Boat Battery if anyone is willing to help me transport the 25kg bugger around... ;P
Will be bringing both laptops, webcam, DSLR, what nots...
IN ALL THUMBS UP FOR EVERYONE'S EARNEST RESPONSE!
Let's hope the haze will subside more and clear skies to come!
Till then...
Cheers,
Remus
