First attempt on Jupiter with my ETX!

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Hi, I don't have a sample. Hehe, expensive. But there is a review of this corrector in S&T maybe 1 year ago.

The review in S&T says that its good. Much better than the RGB align feature in Registax. For different declinations, you have to adjust the relative orientation of the 2 prisms differently. And the sharpness of the planets does improve. But note that it does not correct for seeing.

To beat the seeing a bit, the IR pass filter will help. But it is useless with Toucam unless you can remove the Bayer filters on it, hehe. But it will work well with monochrome cameras such as those from DMK or Lumenera.

hi folks,

Just made some effort reducing the color fringing. As I cannot see obvious fringing on my screen, I just tried to reduce the saturation of purple and blue color in the image. I've uploaded it here, can you still see obvious color fringing?

This is the original version:

This is the adjusted version:

I really love the result! Great image with an ETX125. Excellent detail.

Can I ask how many points did you use in the registration? Have you tried using the Ganymede as the registration point?

Hi chris,

Thanks for the compliments. I simply used one point registration cos I could not see details clearly in a single frame. I haven't tired using Ganymede as the registration yet, maybe I will give it a try. Thanks for prompting!
