Hi Everyone! Can anyone answer some questions for me?

i have a sky-watcher 102mm f/5 refractor to let go.
it's my 1st scope and can say it serves as a very good beginners scope - portable and easy to use. it's still used as my grap-&-go scope but it's seeing much less action since i've a backyard observatory now. and i've 3 other scopes!

except the finder with mine came with a 6x30mm finder scope instead of the unit finder.

everything included to start observing - scope, finder, tripod&mount, one 20mm and one 9mm eyepiece, erect diagonal. will throw in a homemade solar filter for this scope. and may be even a barlow... at sgd400 ono hand delivered jb...

the only problem is i'm in borneo and i only travel to jb infrequently. my next visit is scheduled for 22-23th Nov 07. i can hand carry it to you.

Thanks for the offer! It tempting! But i think i will do a bit more research on scopes and learn how to handle them through some obs session. I really do not wanna ill treat my 1st scope! Will PM you if i think i am ready. Anw, i admire you guys man. Was it easy to get this interest of yours started? I am always laughed by my buddies that say that i am "gay" and refuse to accompany me when i ask them out at night for a view. I hate it a lot and it just makes me so pissed and helpless. I really hope someone living in yishun shares this passion as me!

I promised myself that one day, i will be able to take astro photos that well enough to awe and shock all of my friends. To prove that there is such a beautiful space out there and that any normal person can learn to appreciate it if they put their mind into it. Its a sad thing that many of my frens refuse to believe that we can see mars with our naked eye. Some even laugh and show me sickening looks on their face when i say that we can see constellations in Singapore.

ahah, i happen to start off in ngee ann's astro club. people ard there showed me around when i'm still new. it was only until later when i decided to get a scope of my own. sadly i see people ard me buying nice scopes, only to quit the hobby after a few years. btw, wat sch are u from? any astro club there?

i'm frm sp but i did'nt join the astro club there. Regretted that decision. tats why here i am now, trying to learn and pick up stuffs from the many pros!

Hi Razsky, it's good to hear that you are obsessed by the night sky. Don't bother about your "noob" friends XD, you can just show them the photo you took in the future to inspire them.

Actually, if you are sure that you have deep interest in astronomy, you can just get yourself a lifetime scope. For me, I bought myself an 8" LX90AT. I just love it although I always think for a replacement (the so-called aperture fever).

Anyway, if you have bought your scope, don't feel shy to share your experience.
