Yes, thanks for sharing, RLow!
Now I have a list of DSOs to look out for next time.
I have seen his human Goto at work: just point and it's there. Amazing memory!

Due that's NGC1931 in Auriga, reflection nebula, not planetary. I used to mistaken it for a new comet with my small refractor some 10 years ago, hahaharlow wrote:Can anyone remember the name of that planetary nebula we saw with the four stars inside at the centre?
Clear skies please...

Thanks Vincent, Rich1 & Gavin.
Thanks Jiahao, yes its NGC 1931, which is an emission nebula and also partly a reflection nebula.

Jiahao...I'll be collecting it tomorrow, and later install it with Ultrablock, O-III & H-Beta filter...should make our next observation more interestingjiahao1986 wrote: Richard's filter slide will arrive soon. Hopefully We have a chance to revisit M101 in the next trip and try flickering among the filters to see which one gives the best view on these HII features!

I also just received THE eyepiece that should have come in time for last saturday observation...maybe you remember I mentioned it in passing...it is somewhat associated with NGC 2169 (37 Cluster) we saw last saturday but both of us didnt record in our report.

Vincent,
that Waite Research mirror should be an excellent mirror, among the very best!
your 14.5" f/4.5 is a very wise choice indeed! Sometimes we had to tiptoe just to observe at zenith with my 15" f/4.5 dob whereas you have eliminated that issue.
Yes you should bring your new Sumerian dob to Sedili where it can perform better under dark skies. See you there!
