Tail is always away from the Sun. It is approx in line with Earth and Sun, so no tail. See an earlier post in this thread by weixing, the path of the comet.

Hi,
just one question, comet without the tail , does it mean that it is heading our way so the tail is behind the comet?
A comet generally has two tails. The dust tail is due to the comet's dust particles, the other is due to ionized gas from the comet coma. Both tails basically always points away from the Sun regardless of whether it is moving towards or away from the Sun. Currently, we (Earth) are somewhere in between the Comet and the Sun, so we don't see much of the tail as it is pointing away from us.

Have a nice day.

We observed that comet through 4.5", 6" & 8" scopes. It looks so nice. It would be more beautiful if we could see the tail
