Thanks to Dave for hosting the event. It was a tremendous success! Moon was so clear. There was so much festive spirit with people bringing traditional lanterns and having picnics around the area.
Open secret by now Haz is the owner of the Mak127.
After 1am+, we went over to the original darker site in the park which Dave used to frequent. The eastern sky just got clearer and clearer. We had a great chat while waited for the showpiece objects to keep rising higher and higher.
At about 4am++, Jupiter was incredibly awesome through a binoviewer attached to Mak with a 20mm eyepiece pair + 1.6x barlow! Orion nebula was gorgeous like a thick hair wig surrounding the trapezium stars. And we could easily count 5 stars of the 7 Sisters with naked eyes.
I got my first 8" SCT relatively shortly after my first telescope Mak127. Thus, did not make use the Mak127 for a while after that. Last night experience of looking through one at a clear skies brought back a flood of beautiful memories why I love this hobby and this telescope so much!

Re: Bishan Park sidewalk astronomy - tonight (30/09/2012)
We had a great sidewalk event last night (and night before) at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. Big thanks to all who came and helped out - James & friend, Alfred & family, Koko & family, Hazrie & Effendi, Dave, Ava, Clifford and the Nparks officers. What an amazing time we had! People and lanterns everywhere. Including those flying in the air. Kong Ming lanterns I mean, not people.
Here are some photos:
The calm before the Kamikaze...

Open for business ...

More and more customers coming for free "gift" ...

"Can you help me take picture?"

"I shall slay the Pentax with my lightsaber"

"Queue so long ar. Wait I see this one first. Shorter queue."
