Yes, ha ha ... and also just hot of the press from CERN LHC, AstroPhysics are just greeting more interesting. Looks like Neutrinos are the only particle that can get in and out of a black hole without getting caught.

Even if we discover something faster than the speed of light;it may not proof that E=mc^2 as wrong.;in fact this formula was derived before Einstein--by a astronomer who try to find how the sun gets its energy and uses dimensional analysis to do it.(according to calculation;if the sun is solely made of carbon and oxygen and liberate energy at today's rate;it will burn out in about 7 days!)It appeared(before Einstein theory) in an obscure journal as he was not as famous and didnt attract much attention.However we may have to change the "c" to perhaps the new speed we discover--the highest speed of the neutrino,perhaps.However,the other physical laws which was derived assuming the speed of light as a universal constant has to be relooked at.

A v.v.strong CME--Corona mass ejection on the sun--occurred on 22/23 oct 2011--seemingly targeted at mars.However its so strong--although with no associated x-class flare--that it caused the earth magnetic field to 'compress' and sparks Aurora as down south as Ohio and Wisconsin in the US.Interesting to note is the 7.2 mag Turkey earthquake 'by coincidences'.Do take a look at spaceweather.com which is flooded with photos of Aurora and appreciate the power of such event which is said to perhaps cause mars to loss its atmosphere.Also a bright band has again formed today.This bright band had been on-and-off ever since 1 oct 2011.Thanks.

Sunspot 1339 has a very complex structure and is sure to yield a good show--luckily its recent CME is not Earth directed but even that entitle us to a good show in aurora.Things begin to happen when its earth directed--in about 5 days later---one of the reason why NOT ALL x flare has an effect on us.;---and normally this happens when such CME starts to disturb our magnetic field--compress it etc and hence disrupt radio communication.Today I manage to photo it and its not that big--one that occurred in 2002 is much bigger and more complex;however it prove that we are nearing the peak of the present cycle.The continuous bright band that occur in the northern part of the sun---visible in <0.5A Ha and high freq Cak,UV light----and its frequent on/off occurrence and the frequent occurences of abnormal weather pattern in various countries including S.E Asia is also interesting to match.However do take note that this 4th mini cycle in cycle 24 is coming to an end in about a month time.The next mini cycle in 2012 is the real one to look out for.

Yesterday its reported that another CME hit earth causing disruption in the earth magnetic field and by coincidence,a powerful earthquake hit the US--Oklahoma--and also severe rain had cause landslide in the country Colombia.By the way 1339 is turning more and more towards earth and since its cracking with at least M-class flare;more CME expected;and by the way,the northern band is almost continuous again.

Terrestrial solar flare effects which are the actual coupling mechanisms which trigger quakes appear to be either abrupt accelerations in the earth's angular velocity or surges of telluric currents in the earth's crust. The graphs presented in this paper permit probabilistic forecasting of earthquakes, and when used in conjunction with local indicators may provide a significant tool for specific earthquake prediction

Abstract: This study explores the long-term frequency variability of high-surge events (HSEs) in the North Adriatic, the so-called acqua alta, which, particularly during autumn, cause flooding of the historical city center of Venice. The period 1948–2008, when hourly observations of sea level are available, is considered. The frequency of HSEs is correlated with the 11 year solar cycle, solar maxima being associated with a significant increase in the October-November-December HSE frequency. The seasonal geopotential height pattern at 1000 hPa (storm surge pattern; SSP) associated with the increased frequency of HSEs is identified for the whole time period and found to be similar to the positive phase of the main variability mode of the regional atmospheric circulation (empirical orthogonal function 1; EOF1). However, further analysis indicates that solar activity modulates the spatial patterns of the atmospheric circulation (EOF) and the favorable conditions for HSE occurrence (SSP). Under solar maxima, the occurrence of HSEs is enhanced by the main mode of regional atmospheric variability, namely, a large-scale wave train pattern that is symptomatic of storm track paths over northern Europe. Solar minima reveal a substantially different and less robust SSP, consisting of a meridionally oriented dipole with a preferred southward path of storm track activity, which is not associated with any dominant mode of atmospheric variability during low-solar periods. It is concluded that solar activity plays an indirect role in the frequency of HSEs by modulating the spatial patterns of the main modes of atmospheric regional variability, the favorable patterns for HSE occurrence, and their mutual relationships, so that constructive interaction between them is enhanced during solar maxima and inhibited in solar minima.
