An update on 2192.
After discharging 97 flares (6 X, 27 M, 64C), Active Region 2192 says good-bye as it moves to the other side.

Re: Unedited Solar Images from Jan 2012 onwards
Monitering of the sun continue today.Early morning at 9:05 spore time I again saw a roughly 200,000km gas ejection from 2192.It was projected to the other side of the sun.....so really dont know the actual length of the ejection. Also during the ejection 2192 flare a few times.....in the C or lower m type.;but from the prominence produced,it become evident that this type of gas ejection produce high speed horizontal gas train....just wonder what kind of force field can produce that???
I also see that the lightbridge at the main spot of 2192 continues to glow brightly.2192 is really putting up a good show to the last moment.
Hi Alfred
Yes 2192 will be at the edge early tomorrow morning
Really looking forward to see what the core can offer.

As for sunspot 2192,it did flare again today at 08:44 Spore time
.......and as its at the edge, judging is difficult but guess its M9 or above.
Also the lightbridge at the main core continue to glow at 540nm.
By 16:00 all is over.2192 cannot been seen on the earth facing side of the sun.
Tomorrow will submit photo with description.Thanks.

Hi,
According to http://www.tesis.lebedev.ru/en/sun_flares.html AR2192 has eventually departed for the other side on 30 Oct 14 after erupting 112 flares (6 X, 36 M and 70 C). Spaceweather.com noted that while it was the largest sunspot in 25 years, it did not send CME towards Earth.
Here is a graphical presentation of the flares from www.tesis.lebedev.ru

Re: Unedited Solar Images from Jan 2012 onwards
After making its way around the other side of the Sun, that giant AR2192 is back as AR2209. The last time, it discharged at least 112 flares (inclusive of 6 X-flares). Ever since its appearance on 13 Nov 14, it has erupted at least 10 times.
These are the H-Alpha images taken this morning in cloudy conditions.
This is the full disk. AR 2209 is the large active region near the left side.
A close-up view of AR2209
A nice prominence that was near AR2209 on the Eastern rim.
Stay tuned, looks like this giant still has potential for X-class flares......
