hi,
was wondering if anyone knows where to get laser pointers that can point right up and across the sky? cos i've seen people use before, bright green laser, to point out stars in the sky to introduce the sky to beginners.. was thinking it would be good to get one for my school..
thanks

Hi,
Astro Scientific Centre do sell them... but I think it is quite expensive.
Have a nice day.

An alternative will be getting a powerful torchlight. It works!

Mr Au and Wira each bought one recently so you can check with them but be prepared to pay. They are not cheap and due to their power, must be careful never to point at someone's eye by mistake. I think Wira's one is cheaper at around S$200...

When i do diving I just use my diving torch to point out the stars. Just find a powerful torch with a narrow beam and it should be much cheaper than a laser ($200+ USD was what I saw)

It's expensive to get those laser pointers and what my school did was to use the torchlights to point. it seems like those bigger ones (non-pocket sized) are good enough. however, by using torchlights, be prepared to sacrifice your nightvision.

(was on same malaysia trip as u.. where we were more intrigued by the lasers haha) hmm the clubsnap forum surefire torches sound cool, but not very the cheap either :S oh well, we will go look around..
