primary objective was actually to photograph sunset at lower pierce reservoir, but inadvertantly part of Orion and Jupiter can be seen in this time-lapse clip too. secondary is to take a few shots of the night sky which end sharp at 2001hrs.

Time-Lapse taken on 12/5, 1910-1925hrs.

then decided to stay back a while for dusk shoot, which resulted in the below foto(slightly edited & contrast enhanced), both taken at 1941hrs.
slight touchup: Image
contrast enhanced: Image

and lastly a cropped version of Orion itself.

EXIF can be seen within the foto itself.

gary, thanks! did tried shoot last week at upper seletar reservoir, but underestimated the power of even a quarter moon!

will try again 2 weeks later on a new moon. any suggestion for a "dark but safe" plc in sg? search in forum, that changi beach, labrador n some other places a good choice. moi most probably only interested in short exposure ap for now.

Hi DarthCryder. Dark but safe is the holy grail all of us are looking for. :) Some of the darkest sites are unsafe and vice versa. What is safe is also quite subjective depending on your personality and perception of security. So those coastal places in Singapore are quite good compromises. Due to unpredictable weather, quick reaction time to clear skies is very important too. You may want to take that into consideration and not waste too much time travelling to a further darker site.

gary, indeed! guess in sg, the "darkest" zone would be placing the equipment facing south.

anw any1 being to seringat island, other than pulau semaku for night shoot?
