Celestron Advanced VX 8" Newtonian

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Celestron Advanced VX 8" Newtonian

Post by Joshelerry »

Hi checking using DSLR adaptor to capture images will mean the focusing tube be extruding due to the focal length in the eyepiece area? That is, is this tube for astrophotography with DSLR?

Btw, can the advanced vx mount be manually adjusted (suppose the battery went flat etc) ...?

1) yes the focuser tube would somewhat go into the light path. this would produce some diffraction effect. but diffraction is unavoidable with newtonians.

2) you can move the mount manually by loosening the clutches. however there are no manual slow motion controls.
