On Jul 31st, I ordered a Virtuoso mount through Amazon and they promptly informed me that item is shipped on 1 st August and gave me a tracking number, with arrival date window 16 th to 23 rd Aug. When the item did not arrive even after 10 days , I reminded them yesterday and pat came the answer
"Sorry, the Item was back ordered . Your order is cancelled . You will be re-funded".
Then how did they give me a tracking number?.
This is my second bitter experience with Amazon. Same thing happened couple of years back when I placed order for some Astro stuff.
Twice bitten....

Re: Frustrating Experince with Amazon
Was it amazon itself or through a marketplace merchant?
Usually Amazon itself is very good with its stock tracking but one of its associates may not, especially if it was not "fufilled by amazon"
You might want to see the actual merchant you were buying from
Hope it helps!

What difference it makes to the consumer?. As far as Buyer is concerned Amazon is the FRONT Seller and they should not commit without checking the stock position.

Hang on, bro! Don't get mad with me, I'm not speaking for Amazon.
All I'm saying is that you may want to see if Amazon itself is the seller (in which case send a scathing e-mail) or if its one of their merchants, in which case send a negative feedback, if you so choose

Hi , I already did the 'action' part you suggested.
The best part was they already sent me the 'Customer Feedback' survey form last week , so that I could use it as a punching bag.

Re: Frustrating Experince with Amazon
What Amazon did was terrible!
They ought to compensate you for what happened (morally speaking at least). I agree that they are responsible since you contracted with them and they provided you with the stock and shipping info / representations. Tell them it's a case of 'sorry is no cure', but I don't know if that would cause even more frustrations with them.
Over the years, I've bought books and DVDs from Amazon US and UK with no issues. But I would avoid buying hardware from them after reading of your experience(s), esp if it involves a third party merchant. Better stick with the major retailers direct.

Yeah I have had issues with sellers, but amazon themselves have been great!

Re: Frustrating Experince with Amazon
Hi Gavin,
You are correct. Looks like Amazon is good only for books DVDs and underwears.
To boot they have taken the full amount on 30 th Jul itself, as I could see from my Credit card a/c.

Re: Frustrating Experince with Amazon
I have not bought anything electronic from there yet, but the GOTO mounts look tempting.
Definitely not considering 3rd party merchants as they don't give the 16% VAT refund in Amazon Europe.
