Re: Remote observatory opreration via internet.
I have used GRAS / iTelescope extensively.
It is so relaxing not to worry about polar alignment, setup and teardown, weather, etc.
It is not so relaxing knowing that your imaging program is costing $60 US per hour.
So my 2-hour Bubble Nebula would cost $120 US in one Zing! but the quality is very high. I rented an FSQ106 with ST8300M on a Paramount ME.
It is funny but at the time I limited myself to 5-minute subs, because my experience was that more than that would produce oblong stars.
Fool that I was. Premium equipment can do near miracles.
But I know better now. I do 20-minute subs all the time these days... (but then I won't rent again)
