Right I finally decided to enter the world of 2" eyepieces and ordered an Orion Q70 38mm to start.
Looked really promising until I tried fitting it into my 2 inch diagonal... Which it didn't. Seems like it's a hair width's too large. It doesn't fit directly into the Telescope back either. Any suggestions on what my next course of action should be?

Re: New eyepiece doesn't fit!?!
I came across another review expressing the same problem with this eyepiece... Certainly highly unusual. I suppose it is too troublesome to return, and the only option I can think of is to sand the barrel down a notch other than to ask Orion to send a replacement barrel...

If you have another 2" eyepiece that fits, simply unscrew the metal barrel and transfer it to the new eyepiece. Not elegant, but should work. That's how I did it when I had an eyepiece with a barrow that was too large.
