Imaged Jupiter a few days back and it is by far my best attempt on the planet. Really pleased to see that I managed to pick up detail on the moon Ganymede too! I still think I could squeeze a bit more detail from my C8 but that will have to wait till my next Jupiter session and a bout of excellent seeing

Re: Planet Jupiter and Ganymede!
Here's another shot of Jupiter I took last weekend at Mersing. Seeing was really good that at that time!

Re: Planet Jupiter!
Managed to image Mars last thursday night under decent seeing. I've also begun to learn to use WinJupos which, unfortunately like all other astrophotography software, is not very intuitive. Half of me says that I've done it OK but I still feel quite clueless about whats going on. Would be grateful if anyone out there that happens to be well versed with software can give some input!

Also, here is the blue channel of Jupiter comprising 5 minutes of data derotated. Data from the red and green channels are problematic, seemingly plagued by a strong gust of wind! Nonetheless still sharing this image as it is my first GRS capture since.... 2012!!
I'm not sure if the derotation was effective because the moon (Io) still appears oblong and I don't see any improves in detail over the non-derotated.

Sharing a recently acquired image of Jupiter, including a GRS and Io moon/shadow transit.
Left image a stack from 3 min of data and right is from 10 min. Some rotation on the planet Jupiter can be seen in the right and a slight loss in detail. As always, my quest to figure out derotation continues, hope I'll master it soon!
