Heads up for this years Geninids!:D
12-13 Dec is the geminids !!
Hi folks:
Geminids being a reliable shower - ( not the wet type) is worth watching ( you will get something even after mid-night) .
Lucky my plane will touch down on dec 13 before mid night and by the time i reached home i will try to reach out and watch the Gems should weather permit. If I survive the travel fatigue from the 19 hours flight from US!
Clear sky to you all..

Hi,

Have a nice day.
Yesterday night, was quite good in Tampines. Can see quite a lots of stars, but too bad I had to work late and no time to observe.Too bad the sky wasn't that good... meanwhile in USA some one reported seeing hundreds of Gems...

Have a nice day.

My session at sentosa was quite gd, managed to take down quite alot of new stuff.
M46/M47/NGC2423
3 open cluster near monoceros. M47 and NGC2423 were caught in the same fov in my toy scope. The 2 cluster littered the entire fov with stars. M46 is somewhere near the other 2, no PN seen >.<
NGC2362
An open cluster in Canis Major. Not hard to point your scope at the cluster, but very likely that you will miss it. Thru my scope at 24x, it takes up about 10% of the fov. The entire cluster thru my scope shows about 9 stars with direct vision.
NGC2451/NGC2477
2 cluster inside Puppis. NGC2477 is a gobular cluster, one of the few during this period( i think the other one is m79, which is kind of hard). NGC2451 is a very large open cluster. takes a little moving around in my scope to see all of it.
M48
An open cluster near Monoceros, quite dim, i managed to find this with luck.
Machholz
Last seen this 2 weeks ago, location has changed quite alot already. Took me some time to find it again. Bright neuclus can be seen thru a pair of 50mm binos. Some detail inside the neuclus can be seen thru my toy scope.

Went chalet and so observed for 2 nights at East Coast, Monday and Tuesday.
Every time I do observing, I seem to be facing the wrong part of sky/doing the wrong things(looking thru scope)! Never got to see meteors before today. But I'm happy to say I finally caught some this time! Clocked up to 9 streaks from 2-4am, but because the clouds came in I had to forgo the 4:45 peak.. Finally I see meteor shower
Observation list:
Usual - M41, M42, Trapezium cluster at high mag (couldn't see E and F tho), Saturn, Jupiter.
Plus:
Omega Centauri! At like 5+ am. Couldn't find it thru scope because Alpha and Beta weren't up (they give me the markers), when they were I spotted them thru a 16x60 bino.
Jewel Box - Pretty sight at 38x.
