I think it best that you all contact his friend directly.
I interested in the DSC and the colour filter
I think you cannot use this DSC directly... you need to get the suitable encoders for your mount.

II. JMI NGC-MAX + 2 encoders + mounting hardware for C5 + manual = $400
You will need to buy/fabricate mounting hardware for other scopes. Also the database is "optimized" for small scopes only (< 5"), it contains "only" 2300+ objects.
