NEW OBERWEK GIANT 22X100 ASTRO-BINO
Hi Robin,
I am sure it is a good deal, but straight thru binos are a pain-in-the-neck literally, when it comes to astro use. Can you get your hands on some 45 or 90 deg angled binos? e.g.

Thanks!

Hi Kay Heem:
I almost wanted to buy an 45 or 90 degree bino but it cost almost min
S$1500 for 80mm dia ie: Miyachi or Vixen and for the 100mm range it cost almost $ 2000>, as bino is only for general comet hunting and stargazing, I consider it as a low tech pc of equipment and should not invest more than $1000. However I have the ability to construct a very suitable mount to view with this bino without much constrain and neck pain.
Astro Bino
Hi there:addy wrote:Hi Robin
I would be interested in this or Oberwerk 25/40x100mm.. let me know the prices.
The bino cost not exceed S$600.00 included freight to Singapore, I will gether perhaps a few more interested buyer and I will negotiate the price again with the dealer from overseas. The bino only comes in 22 x 100mm.
Miyauchi
Its a used item, the freight to Singapore will cost about US $100. BTW what is the size?ariefm71 wrote:there's a miyauchi selling for us$500 on astromart

For those with a 5" MCT/SCT, you may want to consider just buying a binoviewer with the Siebert Optics 0.5X focal reducer. With a 30mm eyepiece, you can achieve 20-40X magnification.

Good idea, I have a C8 and I have considered to install a bino viewer, but the bino viewer cost almost US $700 - 800 not include freight, furthermore, the C8 needs a heavy mount and transportation is not as easy as a 100mm bino.

Re: Astro-Bino
Robin, I quoted the 5" as it would give approx the same light gathering capacity as a 4" bino. The 5" MCT/SCT can be mounted on the Manfrotto 410 geared head.lowrobin wrote: Hi Kay Heem,

With your C8, you can use the Burgess binoviewer for US$200 which includes a pair of eyepieces. You can use a simple fork mount for your C8.
