New Image: NGC 1999

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

New Image: NGC 1999

Post by tanguan2001 »

All,

Slowly working through a backlog of images to process - we've had lots of clear nights over the last month!

An unusual set of objects - a nebula with a dark globule, and Herbig-Haro objects - jets from young stars.

At last also positive confirmation of how deep these images are. Using the nifty new facility in CdC to link with Vizier and download USNO-B data, I've confirmed that stars down to at least mag 20.0 are visible.

The gentle light of a distant galaxy
must needs pour into mine eye.
Or i shall with bent and turned,
fall me down, distraught..To die.
