tg is selling his 8" f/5 newt ota
debash is selling his gp mount
i'm selling the pier for the mount (if you want a tripod for this heavy ota, you'll need to get at least 2" steel tubular or vixen hal110 heavy duty tripod, plus a half pier)

there, you'll have a complete setup :-)

ps: all listed in the buy & sell section

Hi there,

Also, CoolCat have a Celestron 8" Newtonian that she don't know what to do with it... hee hee :crazyeye: . She brought it with the Meade LXD55, but I think she nearly fainted once she saw the size, so I think the scope become part of her house decoration... ha ha ha... hope she didn't see this post!! :P

Anyway, I would suggest you check out the size first, before you brought it... 8" doesn't sound big, but 8" Newtonian is big!! You can check out the size of the scope in Astro Scientific centre first... it is the second largest Newtonian there.

Good luck and have a nice day.

Hi,

Don't be like that lah... he'll be using to mount a 8" Newtonian. IMHO, the EQ3-2 mount's maximum load will be a 6" F5 Newtonian... oops.. that will be my scope that I put on sale... hee hee :P :P

Anyway, if you are looking for a mount for the 8" F5 Newtonian (OTA around 7.2kg), a Vixen GP will be the minimum... overload by 200g, but that is ok... just make sure you got enough counter-weight. But if he start mounting more thing on it, such as a 50mm finder, then a CG5 mount may be better.

Good luck shopping and have a nice day.

Yea...if your gonna get an 8" newt you BETTER CHECK OUT THE SIZE because it is HUGE on an EQ mount..
