hi all, seeing the speed at which a previous ETX was just sold i thought i would put mine up for sale while there might still be a market, and use the cash for some upgrading heh heh..
i justify my higher selling price over the previous ETX just sold because of 2 important differences. (1) this comes with its deluxe field tripod and (2) it comes with its original meade carrying case worth about US$130
background on this scope: i bought this scope about 2 and a half years ago but with the arrival of my orion 80mmED i have not used my ETX in over a year. all the time it has not been in use its been in my dry cabinet.
there are many reasons why this is a good buy not least being that of price. buying a new ETX locally would cost you >$3300 easy. and thats without the carrying case. buying from overseas and having it shipped to you would also bring the price over $3000 because of the shipping charges. i would know cause thats exactly how i did it.
buying from me also gives you the comfort of having a proper collimated ETX. if you have skimmed through weasners ETX site you would know what i am talking about. anyway here are some picture samples below of mars jupiter and saturn that i took through this ETX using my nikon coolpix 4300. it might give you a good idea of what this thing is capable of.
