Hi Angus,

Being a seller, have you looked through the scope yourself? How are the views?

I do not mean to be a wet blanket for your effort, but I need to make a few points for the benefit of the newbies out there considering to buy a scope:

1. The specs mention an equatorial tripod with accessory tray, but the picture shows a normal photo tripod. Please clarify for the newbies which mount is included.

2. Specifications mention a K25, K10 and 2 barlows, but under "Other Details", it is stated H20 and SR4 eyepiece. Can you confirm what are included? The 'old birds' may know what these eyepieces are, but could you give more details to the newbies?

3. The max useable magnification has often been quoted as 50X per inch aperture. At 80mm, the max useable magnification would be about 160X for an average astro scope. For a short tube like the one you are advertising, it would be less, maybe 100X.

3. Do you have a demo set available for your potential buyers? A lot of the newer members are students and I am sure they would like to test it out before getting one. If you could bring a set to demo during one of weixing's observation sessions, interested parties can tag along to view it.

Rgds,

Kay Heem

thank you.

Please confirm if you are supplying the "K" eyepieces, or the "H" and "SR".

There is a whole world of difference between them.

I hope it's the "K". At least not so bad. The other two is worth the garbage bag.

And what is your price for selling them?

hello

Hi
The scope you indicated seems very similar to the one I posted here some time back. Are you from the same company in Hill Street?

hello good morning,

I dont own shops but I do supply to some of my friends in the bino and telescope industry. it may be possible that they have shops there.

sorry because Im still new in this forum, is there specific place which i can refer to also to enhance my knowledge about scopes?

My exisitng knowledge is only good enough for wholesale but not for professional explanation unlike all of you. one great advantage that i have is that my my friend owns a bushnell oem plant in china which he also manufactuers many other oem sets.

thank you and good day.

Hi,

Weixing commonly holds his viewing at Tampines on Saturday nites, especially when there is a new moon. He makes an announcement a couple of days before the session on the forum. Some old announcements are at:

http://www.singastro.org/viewforum.php?f=5

BTW, if you have contacts for other Bushnell products, see if they have slightly higher end scopes and binoculars, which are more suited for astronomy and birding.

Take a look at the different equipment here:

I have looked through one (but not sure if its the same scope listed here)when I saw it on sale at SAFE superstore, its comes with a photo tripod (very light, almost unusable) and two Kellner eyepieces.

The optics seems rather ok for its price point, but I only tested it on the store interior, much better than the Toy R Us scopes. The quality of the whole scope is so so, nothing metal, all plastic eg focuser, dew shield and tube. if i'm not mistaken, it has two light buffers inside. The objectives is a true 80mm dia and not step down like other departmental store scopes.

I saw 6 new boxes while I was there two months ago, it even comes in 90mm objectives (as listed outside the box), when i went back i saw 3 boxes left and those 90mm were taken. Hmm, seems like those parents buying these toy scopes for their kids still know that larger dia is better :0
