First attempt of jupiter with Acuter,

Post by wucheeyiun »

When i first brought back acuter, it freezes at every 30- 60 frame, it was frustrating! When ahead and download new driver from STmicroelectronics and manage to capture 100s of frames.
Now , got to figure out stacking...optimally.
Finally got to see the GRS.

2nd attempt on jupiter

Post by wucheeyiun »

I realise the skill is in the stacking....
And acuter isn't that bad, accept its contrast is not that good, min 3lux.
any advice or tricks ...
this is based on 148 stacks,
and yet there is s difference between registrax 2 & registrax 3
edited by nikonview 6 in aspect of sharpening and contrast.

Another attempt on 26/5/2005, 9.00pm , notice more texture on surface, 200 stacks by registax2.
colour 75%, brightness 5%, contrast 25%.
c8 f20 (with front stack barlow) acuter imager from Jim Mcgill(approx 10mm)

My, you are improving with every attempt. Good try! What scope are you using?

Thanks Kayheem,

Its the c8 i bought over from Kimhai, 2" scoptronix barlow,
i am still having problem to locate the planet on the 480 x 640 Imager screen even as i align the finder scope. Its like tikam-tikam until i see the planet. the acuter with the barlow will work like a 5mm 400x magnification. It was a clear night with great seeing condition.

Will wake up early morning for MARS :D
