Hi all,
I caught the arief-bug and looking to upgrade again if ghe condition is right.
Hence doing a survey to gauge if anyone is interested in the Nexstar 8 ($1900) and Celestron C5 ($700) ? if a deal can be struck to sell both off, then I can upgrade to a GPS goto...heh heh...have been very intrigued with the gps scope since I used Wira's LX200...

The Nexstar is in mint condition. Seldom used (in fact, I used it only once since I bought it!) and kept in the dry box. The controller is first generation, so you don't get the bells and whistles of the latest models, just the basic goto functions. comes complete with tripod, manual, diagonal, visual back, finder and boxes for both scope and tripod. I think there is an EP thrown in as well.

The Celestron C5 was my grab-and-go scope which I bought to replace my ETX90. OTA only. No finder and diagonal but with visual back. Price is negotiable for genuine buyers.

Please note that the sale is subjected that BOTH scopes can be sold off since I would need the cash to upgrade to the new scope. If only one scope has offers, than I will continue to keep both. Please PM me if you are interested and I will make a note of it.

I will keep my options open for a week or 2.

thanks!

I forgot to mention there is already a potential buyer for the C5 in the queue...now waiting for an N8 buyer to appear :-)

ok. The C5 guy had pulled out. So now its available again.
Rather than bargain about the pricing, I'll discount it right now.

Final price is $650 without diagonal and finder. Visual back is included.
The OTA does come with the SCT finder mount as well as a handle bar that acts as a mount for a camera. OTA is black in colour and kept in dry box all the time. I decided to sell this as I am getting a grab and go APO refractor and I don't want to hold 2 scopes. its best bag for buck as far as aperture is concerned.

As for the Nexstar 8, controller aside, I quite like aperture it gives.
But now I am bitten by the upgrade bug again and wants to move to a gps- capable scope. So anyone who can offer $1900 gets it. I bought it for $2000 a few months ago and apart from its lonely place in the dry box, it has only gone out once (to Mersing). Scope was in excellent condition as the former owner also seldom used it.
