Comet Neat

Post by rcj »

Hi all,
Here is a picture of Comet Neat taken with a 300mm telephoto lens.
Image details:
Location: Malaysia
Instrument: 300mmf4 at f5.6
Mount: G11
Exposure: 20 minutes
Film: Konica Centuria 400

The picture was taken in 2004. Recently reprocessed. Almost lost the negative! Found it back recently.

Comet 73P Schwassmann Wachmann 3 may reach mag 6, or even naked eye, in 2006 May. Comet prospects for 2006 are listed at:

Go well!

very nice photo Remus! I think I saw this comet with another one that night (Linear) in Telok Sari, the double comets of that year. The first comet I saw was Halley's Comet, in Singapore in 1986, just a cotton wool ball through my brother's 60mm f/15 Japanese refractor. Quite disappointing, but I did get to see it.

Well, as for comets in 2006, the good thing is that a Great Comet may pop up at any time with relatively short notice (i.e. a few months), from what I understand. Let's hope that happens! Then we shall have a Great Party!
