i dunno.. my office friends tell me is 24th, then my sch calender writes 23th Oct..

samuel, will u be free on that one day holiday? if u can make it, maybe we will "invade" ur house the whole day.. hehehe.. dun mind??? :? :?

To clear the doubt about deepavali, it's really 24th october.

The Indians have their own way of calculating dates (thus the calendar difference duh :P), and due to some unforseen things they calculated deepavali to be 23rd, at the start of the year. However, as the days go by they realise it's a miscalculation and so deepavali is now 24th. I have Indian friends in my class, that's how I know.

Yeah I'd like to play around with scopes too... Samuel, how many have you got in your house? I'd like to play around with one, cos I don't happen to own any... so if you've got quite a number, I'd like to pay a visit, learn something new, and play around with your scopes (and hopefully see something at the opposite side of your house :P)

anybody know how to locate celestial north or...
did you all with equatorials align by geographic north or magnetic north
(magnetic north is not exactly aligned with geographic north)

Hi,
I normally just use the compass to align my EQ mount for visual purpose. If require more accurate alignment, I use the drift star polar alignment method.... :P
