I just saw this on Meade's website. I think it was put up today:
Meade’s all new LX200R Advanced Ritchey-Chrétien:
http://www.meade.com/lx200r/index.html
Looks like they've put the "RC" design into the body of the LX-200. The basic 8" f/10 model sells for US$2499, less than half the price of the cheapest RCX400 version (10" f/8 at $5599). However, I read in S&T that some dispute Meade's RCX is really a Ritchey-Chrétien.
It appears that they are also selling the OTA alone at $1249 for the 8".

Hi,
RC Telescope: use hyperbolic primary and secondary mirrors.
RCX Telescope: use corrector lens, spherical primary mirror combination and hyperbolic secondary.
To me the RCX is a more expensive "modified" SCT or a cheaper "modified" RC. Hmm... I think may be it should not call as a SCT or a RC at all...they may be should call it as "MeCT" (Meade Cassegrain Telescope).. ha ha ha

Have a nice day.
