This book is just amazing. Its great for amatuer and professional star gazers alike. Has great facts, and gets straight to the point. I love the star maps that it offers. It taught me how to read star maps and how to use my telescope properly to see the stars. I recommend this book to everyone who loves the stars and everything in the galaxy. Detailed information and jam packed of full color images of stars, planets, and celestial objects would amaze everyone who picks this book up.
I can't put this book down!
The layout is simply stunning, but it's not just a pretty book. If you are new to astronomy, this book could be your single best resource for many years to come. Somehow, the book provides very comprehensive information without becoming too verbose or too bulky. The monthly star charts and tours of the sky are especially useful. It's small and rugged enough to fit in your field pack, yet it's attracive enough to sit on your coffee table.

I've just purchased this book today, and I find myself not wanting to put it down. The title says it all. This book is very informational; a guide, with a touch of quotes. Beautiful imagery. An escape of this world to another. If you are new to gazing, or just a wonderer, I suggest you pick up this book.
A wonderfully written book
This is a wonderfully written book. It is full color, and has so much detail and yet not boring what so ever. The layout is a perfect blend of keeping the page interesting and yet educational. The authors painstakingly take every detail and record it in this book. They write about all the planets, the different types of nebulas, where and how to buy a telescope, types of galaxies, astrophotography, the history of Astromomy, where and how to buy a good pair of binoculars for Astronomy, several sky tours of notable celstial objects, and much much more. Also full of rich pictures. This book kindled my love for Astromomy![/font]
