I bought this from US ( hand carried by Andrew ) @ 399USD,

It is pristine, i have use it for 1 time, and since then in my dry cabinet.

Complete package in original new state, come with IR filter as well, included MaximDL software.

This Sony ExHAD icx259ak color cmos ccd uses Peltier cooling for better noise control for extended exposure.

additional info http://www.skyinsight.net/wiki/index.ph ... em_Imagers

Of late, i did not have a lot of time for astrophotography, so i hoping someone can make more justification out of it.

Any reasonable amount secures.

Can the Star Shoot take solar system images similar to the Toucam? i.e. take AVI and stack?

The Orion starshoot is a single shot full colour sony cmos chip.
These sony Cmos imaging chip had been used in the more costly starlight express imagers...

It does not capture in .AVI file, it requires the maxim DL software ( which is provided ) , The source file in .fit format which is the defacto for high resolution, high colour format. Can be converted to jpeg.

Best used with a tracking mount ie sphinx or skysensor2000.

Typical deep space shot from the starshoot....

You can still stack the images using registax.
