i'm curious, why do you need the rings, instead of a dovetail bar, for e.g.?

Maybe he is unable to fit a dovetail bar on the SCT? My school has a C8 and had difficulty putting a dovetail bar on it.

New holes have to be drilled into the scope to fit the dovetail bar. Now it works flawlessly. :)

Hi,
I think what kochu want is to use the tube-ring on his 8" SCT OTA from his LX90, so he can use a dovetail on it to mount on a EQ mount.

Have a nice day.

Tube ring

Thanks weixing. You are correct. I had a good pair of tube rings which I used to mount LX-90 OTA . I sold it and that was an impulsive mistake.

Drilling hole and using a 13 inch dovetail bar is another way. But it can be avoided if tube rings are available.

Don't drill!!! the metal scraps will go inside the tube and you have to remove the corrector plate to take them out. Are you looking for expensive rings (i.e. Parallax type) or a cheap one (Orion). I think I have the latter lying around somewhere, I'll pm you if I can find it.

C8 ota tube rings

Thanks Arif.

Orion type tube rings are good enough.

As for drilling I will not do any thing recklessly.

Awaiting your pm
