vixen A80Mf for sale

Post by tungkian »

1 x vixen A80Mf achromat refractor on vixen portamount for sale.

specs: 80 mm, f11.4, 1.25inch focuser
comes with: 20 mm plossl, 6 mm plossl, prism diagonal, 6x30 finder
mount: portamount

very new, just over 2 months old. selling cause upgrading. would make an excellent first scope/grab and go scope.

the entire package weighs less than 8 kg.

vixen portamount alone sells for 650 dollars. extremely stable, smooth slo-mo in alt az, makes a great grab and go mount.

scope can be considered to be an extremely good sample. split numerous doubles, wispiness detectable in orion nebula during good seeing, 300 x mag used on moon with burgess 9mm and TV 3 x barlow and image is razor sharp, cassini division visible at 130 x during good seeing, etc etc..

most importantly, chromatic aberration on full moon is imperceptible! quite a feat for an achromat! dun have a picture taken for a full moon but have 1 taken during 3/4 moon with a normal digicam handheld over the eyepiece to show the lack of chromatic aberration. have attached the picture to this post but dunno if it'll appear...

adding in a home made solar filter (baader astrosolar film) and a case which can fully fit the entire scope tube with accessories box in for FREE.

scope and mount if bought outside will cost 900 to 950 dollars. filter would cost close to 100 and case 50.

i am letting it go at $800. full set, complete, excellent condition, instantly usable day or night.

interested pls pm/sms 9-8-2-8-2-2-6-1. cheers! thanks for reading!

it usually takes a few weeks, even months (weixing?), to sell something here... there are too many sources for ppl to buy astro stuffs nowadays.

of course, there are exceptions (another 80mm scope, would you believe) that was sold in less than 3 minutes :D
